Revive Engineering works in partnership with architects, designers, and builders offering structural engineering solutions. From home renovations and new builds to light commercial renovations, to specialized projects like timber buildings, and custom steel sculptures, we offer structural solutions.
Revive Engineering was born out of the idea to offer architects, designers, and builders, access to a senior, experienced structural engineer, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
What sets us apart? We’re flexible and responsive, and committed to offering engineering services as we work in partnership with the owners and all professionals involved in the project.
After serving the professional engineering community for years, Matthew Reid, decided to strike out on his own. Looking for a balanced lifestyle to accommodate his family while remaining dedicated to providing exceptional structural design solutions, Revive Engineering was born.
We provide Structural Engineering Services to homeowners and small business owners within the province of Ontario. Authorized by the Professional Engineers of Ontario, we carry Professional Liability Insurance. Proud members of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce, we enjoy serving the community and surrounding areas.
- Kyle England, William Dewson ArchitectsWorking with Revive Engineering is always a pleasure, and we look forward to continued success on projects in the future.
We represent the owner’s interest for a renovation, addition or new build, with respect to the buildings main gravity and lateral structural support system. We best serve the owner by supporting a prime Architectural Designer, while maintaining our ethical and legal requirements towards the building code, public safety, and local building department.
Modern and even conventional family homes and cottages need Professional Structural Engineering design. We understand the Ontario Building Code’s Part 9 prescriptive tables, the CWC’s “Engineering Guide for Wood Frame Construction”, and the CSA’s Concrete, Masonry, Steel and Wood Design Standards to provide the owner with an economical structure.
We have experience and understand the obstacles an owner faces when strengthening, renovating or expanding a century old masonry / timber building. We support Heritage Architects and specialty contractors in reviving the Heritage Building.
We love those old mixed material, merchant or warehouse buildings. If you are the tenant working with your landlord, or you are the owner. We understand how to work with you, your Architectural Designer and Contractor to update your existing building.
We offer Structural Engineering review and sealing of drawings to sub-trade suppliers. Particularly for heavy timber, or specialty mixed material miscellaneous fabricators, such as stair cases that have steel, glass and wood.
Similar to a Home Inspection, we will visit your home or business and complete a visual review looking for signs of structural destress. Typical issues are cracks in ceiling and wall finishes and/or foundation walls. We best serve the owner if you are prepared to work with a contractor to remediate if there is a structural issue.
